Prologue
Not often when you’re 7 years old do you one day wake up and say I’m going to be a ghost hunter when I grow up. Well for me it happened. My name is Bruce John Duarte and I was born in the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts and lived in a home that was plagued with paranormal activity. After many attempts my family finally had the local church come in and does a blessing of the home and it continued until we left and moved away a few years later. As it seemed all activity had stopped so I thought was to soon begin once again. At age 13 I witnessed with my own eyes my first major experience with the paranormal. Making me more and more wonder what I was witnessing and experienced let me to want to learn more. Fast forwarding to 1996 while in college a buddy of mine asked me to hang out one night took me to a cemetery and to my very first ghost hunt. A year later while away working at a state college as a Gymnastics Coach I once again had a life changing experience with the paranormal which that night made me finally say it’s time I do something with this, and so S.C.P.I was born……
Our Story
Like anything I have done in my life having family with me always meant something. So one night I asked a cousin of mine Gary to come out and help me with a local urban myth of the paranormal in the town of Rehoboth, MA. It was the infamous hitchhiker of route 44. Well while on the investigation we stumbled upon a local cemetery on the area which we caught our very first EVP (electronic voice phenomenon). From there SCPI was officially born. South Coast Paranormal Investigation or (S.C.P.I) for short became a passion that would grow and grow to what we are today. SCPI has been very fortunate to investigate everything from private homes, businesses, churches, cemeteries, State and local Government offices and much more. Using the scientific method of investigating we are out to help our clients in a discreet and professional manor. Our method is if it can be man-made and recreated then we dismiss the claim and if it does not the we continue to take the next steps in helping our clients never charging them for any service SCPI provides we are here for you and SCPI always puts our clients first. Our Mission is to continue to help those in need when no one else will. “Because seeing is believing”.
